The Salifert KH/Alkalinity Profi-Test measures small variations in alkalinity levels of 0.1 meq/L; sufficient for 100-200 tests. Carbonate and bicarbonate are needed for coral skeleton formation & calcareous algae growth, and to buffer pH levels between 8.1-8.4. Salifert's KH + pH Buffer additive helps simply raise alkalinity without disrupting pH - for marine, freshwater, and garden pond water. Use caution when handling, as the dye can stain fabric and surfaces; keep out of reach of children. To assess results, add 4ml water to the test vial (2ml for lower resolution), 2 drops of the KH-ind dropping bottle, and 1ml of the KH reagent.
