Fritz Maracyn® Oxy is crafted with care to treat several common tropical fish diseases, including fungal infections (whitish tufts of cotton-like material) and bacterial diseases. This premium product slowly releases a stabilized oxygen-chlorine combination to successfully combat fungus caused by Saprolegnia, Ichthyosporidium, egg fungus, and related species. Fungal infections tend to start at injury sites, and if left untreated, can prove ultimately fatal. Additionally, Fritz Maracyn® Oxy has been clinically shown to be effective against certain gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Symptoms to look out for include clamped fins, swollen eyes, heavy or rapid breathing, and any alteration in behavior. The dosage instructions are detailed on the packaging, and should be followed carefully. As this product is non-toxic, external antidotes are flooding skin with water, whereas internal antidotes are large quantities of milk. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.
